Recipient Verification
Formtorch requires every notification recipient to verify their email address before they receive any submission notifications. This prevents addresses from being added without the owner’s knowledge.
How it works
When you add a recipient to a project’s directory:
- Formtorch sends a verification email to that address
- The recipient must click the link in the email to confirm ownership
- Once verified, the address can receive notifications from any form in that project — as a default, or wherever it’s explicitly assigned
Unverified addresses are shown in the dashboard with a Pending badge. They don’t receive notifications until verified.
Adding a recipient
Go to notification settings
In the dashboard , open your project → Settings → Notifications.
Enter the email address
Type the recipient’s address and click Add.
Wait for verification
The recipient will receive a verification email. Once they click the link, the badge changes from Pending to Verified, and the recipient becomes available to include on forms.
Resending verification
If the verification email was missed or expired, you can resend it from the notification settings page. Click the Resend link next to the pending address.
Unsubscribing
Recipients can unsubscribe from notifications at any time using the unsubscribe link in the footer of each notification email. Unsubscribing removes the address from the project’s directory entirely — including as a default and from every form it was assigned to — and it will need to be re-added and re-verified to receive notifications again.
Plan limits
| Plan | Notification recipients per project |
|---|---|
| Free | 1 |
| Starter | 3 |
| Pro | 5 |
The same limit also caps how many recipients can be effective on any single form (defaults plus assignments combined).
Verified addresses are shared across every form in a project. Add and verify an address once, then reuse it as a default or assign it to individual forms — no need to re-verify the same address per form.
