Autoresponder Emails
Autoresponder emails are coming soon. This page describes the planned behavior. Email notifications to form owners are available today on all plans.
Autoresponders send a confirmation email to the submitter immediately after they fill out your form. This is separate from notification emails, which go to you (the form owner).

Planned behavior
When autoresponder is enabled on a form:
- Formtorch reads the email address from a designated field in the submission (e.g.
email) - Sends your configured template to that address
- Records delivery status on the submission
Autoresponders are not sent for spam submissions or test submissions.
Choosing the email field
When you enable autoresponder on a form, you specify which field contains the submitter’s email address. Any field named email is used automatically. If your field uses a different name (e.g. contact_email), you can set it in Form Settings → Autoresponder.
If the designated field is missing from a submission, or contains an invalid email address, no autoresponder is sent. The submission is still stored normally.
Email template
You write your autoresponder template in Form Settings → Autoresponder. The template supports:
- A subject line
- Plain text or HTML body
{{field_name}}placeholders to insert submitted values (e.g.Hi {{name}}, thanks for your message.)
Every autoresponder email automatically includes an unsubscribe link in the footer. Formtorch generates this link — you don’t need to add it manually.
Use cases
- Confirmation emails (“We received your message, we’ll be in touch.”)
- Lead magnet delivery (“Here’s the guide you requested.”)
- Event registration confirmations (“You’re registered for…”)
- Support ticket acknowledgements
Unsubscribe compliance
Every autoresponder email includes a one-click unsubscribe link. Submitters who unsubscribe are recorded permanently and will not receive future autoresponder emails from any Formtorch form.
