Autoresponder Emails
Your forms can now reply to the person who submitted them. It's available on the Pro plan.
The problem this solves
Someone fills out your contact form and then hears nothing until you get back to them. They don't know whether the message arrived, so they send it again, or email you separately to check. A short automatic acknowledgement answers that straight away, without wiring up a separate email service.
How it works
- Open your form, go to Settings, and find the Autoresponder card.
- Choose the field that holds the submitter's email address, then write a subject and a short plain-text message.
- Add your business mailing address, save, and send yourself a test email.
- Switch on Send an automatic reply.
That's it. New submissions that pass spam checks now get your reply, and each submission shows whether its reply was sent.
Safe by default
- Only real submissions: spam, suspicious, and test submissions never get a reply, and turning the feature on never emails people who submitted earlier.
- One reply per submission: a submission never gets the same reply twice, even if a send is retried.
- Unsubscribe built in: every reply has an unsubscribe link and supports one-click unsubscribe. Someone who unsubscribes gets no further replies from that form.
- Sending limits: limits per recipient, form, and workspace stop a form from being used to email strangers.
- Clear sender: replies come from "Your Name via Formtorch", with your business address in the footer.
What's not included yet
Version 1 is for acknowledgements: plain text, with up to 3 links. It doesn't support placeholders such as {{name}}, HTML, attachments, or sending from your own domain.
