Stripe Billing and Subscriptions

April 9, 2026

Formtorch now has a real billing system. You can upgrade to a paid plan, manage your subscription, and switch billing intervals directly from the dashboard. Everything payment-related is handled by Stripe.

Starter and Pro plans

Two paid plans are now available. Starter covers growing projects with higher submission limits, longer retention, and access to features like CAPTCHA and email recipient verification. Pro removes most limits and adds priority support for teams running production workloads.

You can compare plans and start a checkout session from Settings → Billing or from the upgrade prompts shown throughout the dashboard when you approach or exceed a limit.

Monthly and yearly billing

Both plans are available on monthly or yearly billing cycles. Yearly billing comes at a discount: you get roughly two months free compared to paying month by month. The interval toggle is available on the checkout page so you can choose before committing.

Subscription management via Stripe

Once you're on a paid plan, the Manage billing button in Settings → Billing opens the Stripe Customer Portal. From there you can:

  • Update or replace your payment method
  • View and download past invoices
  • Cancel your subscription
  • Switch between Starter and Pro

Subscription changes take effect immediately for upgrades and at the end of the current billing period for downgrades or cancellations. If you cancel and change your mind before the period ends, you can reactivate from the billing page.

Usage and renewal date

The billing page now shows your current plan, submission usage against your monthly quota, and the date your usage resets. If you are on a paid plan, your next renewal date is shown alongside your current billing interval.

Plan enforcement

Submission quotas, retention limits, and feature gates were already in place from the earlier plan enforcement work. Stripe billing slots into that existing system: when you upgrade, your limits update immediately. When a subscription lapses or is cancelled, your account moves to Free limits at the end of the period without any data loss.

Free plan limits remain unchanged. If you are currently on the Free plan and have not hit any limits, nothing about your experience changes.
